SPRING IS OFFICIALLY HERE!! (I think.) You never really know in the midwest… but we have had two days of 70 degree, sunny weather and I am PRAYING it sticks around! For those of you who know me at all, you know I DESPISE the cold. People laugh because I’m the person who has a space heater in my office even when it’s 80 or 90 outside. I just love to be warm. SO, needless to say, Spring can’t get hear soon enough!

I absolutely love to embrace every new season by changing up my home decor! Fortunately, there are PLENTY of ways to freshen up your house for the warmer months that are both simple and cost-effective. Here are a few of my go-to tips…

PLANT FLOWERS!

Freshening up your curb appeal is an easy (and fun!) way to bring the life back to your winterized home. We always make a day of it with the kids. Their attention span doesn’t last too long, but I take whatever help I can get. Some of my favorite flowers to plant are peonies, daylilies, gladiolas, and hydrangeas!

This is an old picture, but it’s one of my favorites!

Helps a little, right?

PAINT YOUR SHUTTERS!

Another easy, creative way to add a little color to your home is to either add shutters or just paint the ones you already have! A new paint color can go a long way and it’s so easy to go back to your original color if you get tired of it. So, go all out!

I am so obsessed with this light teal color lately! How amazing is this…? Photo Credit: Bluegrass and Boxwood

GIVE YOUR FRONT DOOR A POP OF COLOR!

Whether it is a new coat of paint or a floral wreath – do something with your front door to add a little color and character! I went as far as painting one of my doors from Season 1 of Bargain Mansions LIGHT PINK! I know this color isn’t for everyone, but I’m so in love with it. SO perfect for Spring!! If you don’t want to make this type of commitment, a new wreath will do the job too.

This picture was taken during the winter months.. I can’t wait to see what this house looks like once the flowers start blooming! I need to go buy and get a picture.. once I do, I’ll be sure to post.

SWITCH UP YOUR THROW PILLOWS!

You guys are well aware I’m a sucker for a good throw pillow. In my own home, I switch them out for every season. Once March hits, I’m all about the floral prints and pastels! Just 4 little pillows can honestly change the entire vibe of the room!

What are some ways you transition your home from winter to spring? I absolutely love hearing ideas from you all!! Let me know in the comments!

Have a great week, everyone!
